World Diabetes Day – 10 Fruits to Enjoy!

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is recognized each year on November 14th. This day exist because the International Diabetes Federation and World Health Organization partnered together in 1991 to address health concerns regarding diabetes. Their awareness campaign has been immense success because people are learning how and where to go to obtain the knowledge, that they need to be more proactive in their lives. For too long and still today so many are going undiagnosed campaigns like the WDD were designed to educate and change that. So, November 14th was developed to bring awareness of how diabetes can wreak havoc on anyone’s life at any time, sometimes with no notice or symptoms. However, by being aware about diabetes what it is and what it is not, it allows one to be more powerful to understand how to take charge of their life so that they can conquer it. By eating the right foods (not processed), getting physical activity in (at least 150 minutes a week), monitoring and being mindful of your stress levels health situations can be improved. Remember fruits that are low in sugar are not bad for you, they are full of fiber and helps to balance your sugar. While you enjoy these delicious fruits don’t forget to enjoy some leafy greens, legumes nuts and seeds too.
