Protect Your Overall Health With Some Self-Care This December!

The final month of the year is here, how do you feel? Are you excited with joy or overwhelmed and stressed with mixed emotions? Depending on where you are at in life this time of year can be one of pure bliss or one of turmoil. December is a month full of emotions that change on a drop of a dime. As a certified health, life, and mental health coach, I often advise my clients to take this last month to get in-tuned with their emotions. For one day you may feel like you are on a ultra-high and the next day on a low. This time of year can bring about many sentiments, the fact that inflation is running high and this virus is never-ending is not helping things out either. What can be helpful is acknowledging feelings, participating in some self-care, having some fun and goal setting.

Mental Health Check-In

A mental health self-care check-in is not a selfish thing to do, it is a necessity with all that is going on in the world today. People all over the world are snapping every day because they are worried about one thing or another. Whether it is bills, money, the virus, health, or whatever else that is at the end of the tunnel, stress has been making it hard to cope. However, when people remember to slow down enough to witness where they are at and where they want to be. They can become more aware and get a pulse on their heartbeat and may hear how many beats per minute occur when they become conscious and go within. Are you stressed? When are you most stressed? Who is stressing you? These are all things to be mindful of. By doing so now, in 2021, you can set yourself up for some real success in 2022. Being mindful and self-care can go a long way in helping to destress.


Coaching is a behavior change tool that can be transformational to those who take the action steps needed to achieve the outcomes that seek. It is not always easy to ask for help or admit to be stuck or not knowing the answer to everything. Coaches are helpful because though human, it is their job to be non-judgmental professionals who listen attentively and act as a partner during the transformation process, while also holding space and accountability to the client. They will not do the work for you, but they will not let you go at it alone. They are to hold you accountable while helping you find the direction that is right for you. If something is outside of their scope of practice, they will refer you to the appropriate professional to help you on your journey.
