Plastic Bag Free NY....Get Ready!
Waste from plastic is all over the place from the water we drink, to the streets we walk, in the trees, flying all around up in the air. The other day I saw a big squirrel chocking on it, this is serious, yet terrible and is only going to get worst with time. One of the things, we should all be proud of is though NY is not the first State to step up and do something; they are making some changes now in the new decade to combat the plastic problem that is taking over our environment.
Though a plan has been in the works for some years now and in effect in some of the NY counties; as of Sunday, March 1st, 2020; the Bag Waste Reduction Law will be in full effect throughout the entire State of New York and will bring with it some well needed changes.
What does this mean?
Retailers will no longer be providing customers with plastic bags other than in the pharmacy, produce or butcher type sections of the store in the State of NY.
