Move More, Sit Less!
Do you know that you are able to improve your physical well-being at any age even if you have never worked out before? Yes, you may be getting older and might have come across some stiffness or pain, but if you commit to getting in some physical activity in especially by exercising, age will become just a number.
What you need to know
Participating in two-and-a-half to five hours a week of moderate-intensity activity in addition to strength training two or more times a week is a commitment everyone needs to make to add years on to their life and to look fabulous while doing it. This entails brisk walking that gets the heart pumping and lifting some weights to keep the muscles strong. Sedentary adults who make an effort to engage in some type exercise can lower their risk of heart disease. Adults who exercise and get plenty of water tends to look younger than those who do not. Perhaps the fountain of youth is in living a healthy lifestyle, not just the genes.
Excitement in Physical Activity
Physical activity does not have to be boring, choose activities that you like doing, which will make you want to do more of it. If you don’t know what you like, try experimenting with things like dancing, jogging, running, swimming, golf, basketball, soft ball, etc. Get some friends and family involved on your health journey. You can make it your journey and adventure by going on a hike, a walk in the park, near water, taking to the slopes you name it. Like to dance, do so alone or with the family throughout the house, if you have stairs run up and down them for a minute or two to get the heart rate up. Remember the heart is a muscle, it needs to have a workout too, after all the more it beats the more you are able to stay alive.
Affirm
Always remember to sing praises to yourself, it is your job to encourage you to be the best version of you. If you don’t do what you are supposed to be doing for yourself who else is going to do it for you? Before every physical activity you participate in affirm you will do it and don't stop. In the end, when you are finish your exercise congratulate yourself on a job well done and get ready to to repeat the cycle again. Physical activity is indeed your friend and needs to play a big part of your lifestyle.
Conclusion
Life without physical activity of some sort will not be a long and prosperous one, so please find ways to engage in some physical activity that gets the heart rhythm up and that excites you for at least 30 minutes a day, most days of the week. It is imperative to get moving and therefore, finding activities that excite you to do so is the best way to go because you will begin to look forward in engaging with them more.
