Energy Boosting Turmeric Elixirs

Winter is in full swing, and more and more people are feeling worn down for many reasons, like the common cold, flu, etc., however, it does not have to be that way. Having a healthy protocol in place to ward off some of the winter blues is essential to keep one in tip-top shape no matter what may try to attack or wear down the body.

Treasure Chest

Do you have a treasure chest full of medicinal goodies? If not, you must get one and keep it stocked full of items like cayenne pepper, ginger, lemons, limes and turmeric for they are quite beneficial with keeping the body in optimal shape. It is best to have these lovely gems in the freshest forms rather than any other, but something is always better than nothing at all when trying to get or stay healthy and well.

The Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric has so many benefits that you will wonder why you have not yet added it as a daily arsenal no matter what the season is. Turmeric is a potent all-natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory spice that helps fight off diseases. The antioxidants found in turmeric help reduce eye concerns, and the depreciation of inflammation has helped to avoid chronic diseases like heart disease and certain cancers. Due to powerful turmeric antiseptic and anti-viral properties, it helps boost the immune system and prevents colds, flu, etc., and if one does come down with something, it helps the body get rid of it faster.

Energy Boosting Elixir Tonic Recipe

Serving Size (2 -3)

6 Organic Gala Apples

3 Organic Lemons

1 Thumb-size organic turmeric root

1 Thumb-size organic ginger root

1/2 Teaspoon of cayenne pepper

User a juicer to add these items together, and bam, you have a delicious, refreshing elixir. If you do not have a juicer combine the apples followed by all the other ingredients in a blender, add ½ cup of water and ½ of ice, and blend in the mixer. I use a Blendtec blender when using this recipe, and this recipe works out quite O.K. However, it is best to use a juicer, of which we use an OMEGA Vert. Masticating Juicer that keeps such juices lasting longer for up to 3 days. I can honestly say, I have had these appliances for 11 and 9 years respectfully, and they are still going strong this many years later, making them well worth the investment, not to mention the warranties are so long that no one can ever go wrong with these brands of quality products. It is always wise that when you spend your money to pick quality because by not doing so will always cost one more in the long run. Don't be cheap with your health. for if you do not take care of it who else will?

Energy Boosting Elixir Recipe II

Serving Size (2 -3)

2 Organic Bananas

1 Papaya

1 Thumbnail size organic turmeric root

1.5 Cups of coconut water or milk if want a creamier smoothie (oat, rice, coconut, almond)

Optional: 1/4 or 1/2 cup of ice.

Optional: Use the seeds from the papaya to decorate the inside or to offer a peppery taste. The seeds from within the papaya are a powerhouse for removing parasites. An article about that is coming up shortly. Black pepper maybe helpful too because it helps with absorption of curcumin in the body more readily vs. alone.

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and you are good to go. Serve over ice, with ice or at room temperature. there is no going wrong with this energy boosting recipe.

* My portion sizes are higher on the turmeric because I go for medicinal and potency for my elixirs. I am about staying as well as possible.
