Beach Drink

August signifies relaxation, mingling and fun, time with family and friends, and vacation time for most others. This month we will keep the blog light; by providing you with some fun facts to consider and ideas of things you can do this August to enjoy the month:

7 things to know about August 2018:

  1. It is National Family/Friends Fun Month

  • Time to enjoy time with those you love. Yes, it is O.K. to take a break and take time from your busy work schedule to spend time with those you care about and not feel the least bit guilty about it. It is quite alright to do some exciting things like: camping, vacationing, hiking, fishing, sitting near the water and doing nothing but just enjoying love ones without a care in the world.

  1. National Picnic Month

  • If you have not been to one yet, it is time to have or attend a picnic before the month’s end. Just grab a basket and make it a lunch for you or two or three, it does not need to be complicated and have a fun filled picnic in area you like.

  1. National Peach Month

  • Visit your local farmer and indulge in the taste of this delightful fruit. You know it is calling your name and there is no better month to try one if you have never had one. Better yet pick up a peach pie. Yum!

  1. National Cleanse Your Skin Week

  • This Week is celebrated the first week of August, from August 1st to August 7th. Use this week to give your face the special glow it desires by investing in a good facial cleanse. Click here to pick up one or more of the sheet or cleansing mud mask to get those pores cleaned out and to have your skin looking flawless with a youthful glow that won't be erased. The face masks are only $3 and are worth every penny of it. Try one or more out this month. Save 15% on masks from 8.1.18 - 8.7.18. Use Promo Code: "Face Mask 15" (while supplies last)

  1. National Romance Month

  • Uhm, not much needed to say about this one other than “Just Go For It!” Use this month to make no excuses, indulge in your mate and if you are single try to feel and look your best to attract that romantic someone into your life this month. Circulate a little more than usual and become just a tad bit more social; it is warm outside so more people are happier and friendlier. Start with a simple “Hello” or “Good Morning” for these are excellent conversation starters as well as a genuine smile.

  1. Women’s Equality Day (8.26.18)

  • Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting the right to vote to women. The amendment was first introduced in 1878. In 1971, the U.S. Congress designated August 26 as Women’s Equality Day.

  • Our ancestors have worked arduously, as well as women today, to be taken seriously by gender inequality among other things. We are fighting for equal pay, equal say and many other things. Take this day, to recognize how we are not where we used to be, but are still far from where we need to be in regards to women’s equality in the US. On this day in 1920, women were allowed to vote for the first time.

  1. National Golf Month.

  • I don’t know about you, but I have (3) Tee off Sessions planned this month consisting of 18 Holes. If you don’t know the game of golf, explore and learn it; for it is an ultimate stress reliever. Golf allows one to be among so many earthy and natural things and creatures from the environment (trees, grass, lady bugs, birds). One quick thing to know about golf, it gives you an ab work out too and strengthens your core the more you twist your torso. It is a low energy exertion sport that helps you get your exercise in.

August is not a month for solitude, so get outside and have some fun with your friends, family or meet some new folks or start your own family with new friends. Here are 6 things you can explore this month.

  1. Head to the great outdoors: beach, pool, walk, etc. for a day of fun in the sun. (Vitamin D for sure)

  2. Take some time to enjoy life around family and friends, laughing, dancing and having a good ole time.

  3. Try something you have never done before this month (Ballooning, Golf, Comedy, Poetry, Soccer, Tennis)

  4. Join that league, team, organization or whatever it is you have been putting off doing, what better time than now; August is when most people are so open to welcoming others in to the group. (Time waits for no one, let’s getting moving)

  5. Open your mind to the possibilities of living life without fear. (If you can do one thing to get you unstuck in this month what would it be? {Just Do It! You Can Do It! Take Action})

  6. Travel at least 2 hours away from your home, 1 day this month for something other than work. It is OK for you to do things that make you happy every now and then if not often. (Life is too short, not to enjoy every moment, so smell the roses or the peaches or whatever it is you like)

If at all possible, try to keep this month, as easy going and stress free as possible; simple is always better. Keep fruits nearby, watermelons or other melons are perfect to stay hydrated, along with lots and lots of water. Electrolyte enhanced water is ideal to have if one is highly active and fine themselves losing lot of nutrients due to sweat or intense fitness activities. Stay Hydrated, Stay Refreshed this Summer for Optimum health!
