Celebrate the Holiday Season Virtually!

This Holiday Season, make an obligation to carve out some time to connect with loved ones virtually. Do not let COVID-19 or any other events of this year put a damper on your holiday spirit. As long as you are alive, breathing, and able to read/ comprehend things like this post, you have so much to be thankful for, and that is worth celebrating.

2020 has been a year many of us in this lifetime has never experienced before and probably will not ever forget. However, we all have the ability and choice to pivot rather than be stagnant and stuck in our old ways of doing things.

Though we may want to be near others physically this holiday season for our sanity or mental, we do not have to be too far away in an age with the numerous technological apparatus available. Some sort of technology in itself is a true blessing to have during these times to connect with others. With online conferencing tools such as Skype, Google Meets, Teams, Zoom, Goto Meeting, Webex, and tons of others accessible and free, no one has to be alone or without the feeling of loved ones near. If you lack video conferencing tools, simply pick up the phone and make a call that will uplift your spirits as well as someone else's. No matter what you decide to do, please make sure to take the virus warnings seriously. Over 265,000 Americans and growing have lost their lives to COVID-19; this virus is not a joke, it is indeed real, don’t believe for one second that it isn’t. The risk of getting and spreading COVID-19 is too significant to celebrate the Holiday Season any other way other than virtually, especially in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA since so many people are asymptomatic. Now, if you feel compelled to venture out or be around a small group, please social distance, wash your hands, and wear a mask. Please do this so that you and all those you care about remain safe and make it to see 2021 and beyond; it is not about ego; it is about consciousness, safety and survival. We must do our part as a nation to be the change we want to see globally and for the next generations.

Conclusion

The ability to pivot as we have been forced to do throughout most of this year will make celebrating this Holiday Season that much joyous. We are a courageous and strong people who have a lot to be grateful for. If you feel you need a little help to get through the Holiday’s ask for it. Set-up a family or friend conference or just pick up the phone and reach out to someone who may be able to provide a little comfort via there kind words or encouragement or vice versa. No one has to go at anything alone if they just ask for what they need and/or want; especially during the Holidays when so many peoples hearts are more open than usual. Generosity is yours for the asking or giving, which ever place you are at in this moment in time.
