7 Tips To Build Your Immune System!

These are some rather tumultuous times we are living in right now. For many, this is a time in history filled with immense anxiety, distress, worry and uncertainty. Excessive news reading and watching does not exactly help the situation either.

Do not let the coronavirus (Corvid-19) rule your life more than it must. Embrace the uncertainty that is occurring; make a conscious decision to do your part by protecting your health as best as you can by engaging in the following 7 Tips:

1. Reduce Stress

a. Simple as that and it really is that simple. What can worrying do to make things easier for you? Nothing. However, accepting the reality of what things are and making a conscious decision to take actions is always better than sitting around wallowing in worry. One must believe and hope that things will turn around for them sooner rather than later, instead of having a pity part full of negative energy & vibes that can sink one deeper into a stressful space. Consider opening your bible to Matthews 6:25-34; the "do not worry" chapter for some inspiration.

b. Consider taking this time to spend quality time with yourself so you can reduce stress, decrease feelings of anxiety or depression; if you do things that you enjoy during this time you will feel less stress. So. carve out more time to cater and give back to yourself. Self-care is not selfish: it is vital to your health and reducing stress which is a silent killer. (Take more baths, meditate, pray, exercise/workout in doors to a video, a trainer's program or whatever way you are able.) Yoga, Tai' Chi, Qi Gong, Palates are all gentle on the body and excellent in relieving overall stress.

2. Stay Hydrated

a. Drink lots of water, tea, liquids with electrolytes that keeps you well nourished and hydrated. Liquid helps circulate blood around the body, as well as helps to circulate toxins out of the body. The more one hydrates, the more release of toxins from the body. Don't store anything in your body that is not needed.

3. Mindful Eating

a. Be conscious of what it is you are putting in your body now more than ever. We know it is easy to order take out, but if your nutrition is primarily from fast food, note that, that food is not beneficial in building a strong immune system.

b. Herbs, Garlic, Onions, Turmeric, Ginger, Lemons/Limes, Parsley. Dandelions & Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). These are items that are needed in everyone’s healthy immune building war chest. These items are essential to having a resilient immune system to fight off the enemy which is trying to attack the body.

4. Supplements

a. Take a good, non-synthetic multi-Vitamin inclusive of A, B Complex, C & D. This will lead to having a strong immune system to fight off disease and inflammation in the body. In addition, it will bring some well needed energy to ward off fatigue. There are foods that have all these vitamins in it but at this point in time, it may be great to focus on both supplements and food together.

5. Laughter

a. There is no better time than now to take up some good comedy; whether online or on television. During this Season of uncertainty; a little laughter can make one feel better as well as take their mind off all of the negativity that is occurring in their surroundings. Laughter is indeed food for the soul; it can change the mood that you are in, in a matter of moments for the best; where as watching negativity may have one feeling defeated.

6. Get Rest

a. Ample rest is imperative for one to feel their best; especially at a time like this. Anything less than 6 hours a night is not good for one's overall health, for it has a tendency to weaken one’s immune system. Practice good sleep habits by attempting to get 6 to 9 hours most nights of the week now more than ever. Yes, we would normally say up to 8 but the strain of negativity that is around causes for more rest.

7. Wash Your Hands

a. We touch everything with our hands. From the computer/laptop, to the doors we open and close, to the steering wheel or train turnstile or seat. Our hands are and always has been a germ pool. Touch our mouth and face and all those toxins are now crawling around there, in addition to the dirt from the air. Washing our hands is a must; especially now with this Corvid-19 virus pandemic going on.

Focus on building a strong immune system to fight off whatever that comes your way. Your war-chest is natural armor you need to defeat the enemy.
