Borrowed Time

As we get closer to closing out 2019, with less than 4 months to go in this year of which I hope you have enjoyed thus far; I want to remind you that we are all living on borrowed time. There is not a second, a minute, an hour or a year that we can get back.

Ponder on that for a moment. That's right,.... there is not one moment from the past that we can get back other than from a memory, therefore, there is no point in dwelling on the past, who hurt us and on what we wish we could have changed if we only did this and that and the other. However, what we can do is decide today, in this 9th month of 2019, to live like we are dying and understand that we are residing here on earth on borrowed time to accomplish some things and share our gifts with the world why we learn some things in the process. No day is promised to anyone; but attempting to live out our destiny is doable when we believe that it is indeed possible.

If you knew you had just one month or a half a year to live, what would you be doing with your life? Would you be living differently than how you are now? or have done in the past? Would you still be living in fear, griping and complaining, would you be giving excuses why everything is wrong with you and right with others, would you be blaming others for your lack and false beliefs? You see, when you realize you are living on borrowed time, none of the little petty things would matter and none of the people who are not helping you move forward would matters either.

Fix your Focus

Focus on what you want and get going to achieve in your life. What you focus on really does grow, who you focus on makes them larger than life in your very own life. Reduce the impact that others have on your life so that you can start living for you. If you are in control of you, then others should not be able to cause you to lose your grounding. Make a decision this month to speak out in faith and walk in it; even if fear keeps telling you can’t move forward; you show fear what you are made of. It may seem scary at first but if you do not try, you will always wonder what, and where you could be or have accomplished if you would have just done something rather than nothing.

September 2019 can be the time you start living your life with no regrets and start focusing on un-shake-able faith that leaves fear in the dust. Now if you are constantly feeling fear when it comes to steps you want to take, do what you think you could not do anyway; it may feel scary at first but remember nothing is impossible with GOD. You can do all things through he who strengthens you. So, say what you want in your life, image it, feel it, and remember the words I’M Possible, therefore nothing you touch or try to do is impossible. Speak I AM's into your life daily, I guarantee it you will start feeling differently, you will start to become confident in your ability to achieve and conquer all that you used to think you could not. Believe in you, take care of you, honor you, love you and if others are not for you, leave them where they be because your time is too precious to be worried a moment longer about nay-sayers and haters. You have work to do for the betterment of you, so how about you get on it and put your energy in doing you. You deserve to be treated and recognized as highly favored and graced with supernatural blessings, but that is only if you make a decision to believe in the supernatural power of the most high, then and only then will you achieve things beyond what you can consciously image, see or think.

Scripture Inspiration To Meditate On:

Make the Most of Your Time

Time is a precious commodity. You can’t earn more of it or reuse it. Once it’s spent, it’s gone forever. That’s why no amount of money, possessions, or success can equal its value. What’s more, we have no control over the length of time we’ll be allotted in this life. God alone is sovereign over the number of our days (Ps. 139:16).

If you want to know your true value system, simply look at how you spend your time. For the committed follower of Jesus, activities and pursuits will reflect a life lived for Him. What, then, is required to live wisely?

1. Realize that without Christ, you have no inheritance in God’s kingdom. The Savior offered Himself as a sacrifice to God so that all who believe in Him could be forgiven and receive eternal life. Without salvation, all of your time is wasted.

2. As God’s beloved child, imitate Him. Do this by walking in love, turning from sin, and trying to learn what is pleasing to the heavenly Father. Of course, imitation requires that you know the Lord, His ways, and His desires as revealed in Scripture.

3. Make the most of your time. Thoughtlessly moving through life results in hours spent on endeavors that, in an eternal sense, are fruitless. The apostle Paul warns us to be wise in making the most of opportunities (Eph. 5:15-16; Col. 4:5).

Remember, life is not about how long you live, but about whether you’re living for Christ. It’s never too late to change direction. Place your trust in God, ask Him for guidance for each day, and let Him direct how you spend your time.

Reflection Question

What will you do this month to start recognizing these truths? How will you begin to shift your life in a different direction for the betterment of yourself?
