10 Ways To Prepare for 2022!

2022 is right around the corner, we are basically knocking on its footsteps. Are there some things you want to put place before 2021 ends to set you up for great success in the New Year? There is no time like now to begin assessing the year you had and make plans for the year you are about to enter. Over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, we wrote about reflecting on this year so you can be in a better position for this month to plan what you want in the future.

Planning now will help to meet goals down the road. To achieve any goal, one must have a vision, solid plans and the ability to take action. At the end of the day, goals help push dreams, tasks, and work forward. People often ask me how I have achieved so many of my goals. I say I start with a vision, write down clear goals with a plan, and then take action in the direction of the goal. The universe takes it from there. Dreaming is great for a moment but, without goals, there is nothing to look forward to. People then reflect on life a year or so, later with I should have done this or that because they did nothing. Hence they are now deemed stuck.

10 Things to do to prepare for 2022

  1. Overall Life Assessment

  2. Take note of where you are at. Are you happy? Take out a sheet of paper and draw a T down the middle of it. On one side of the T write down what you like about where you are at, and on the other side of the T jot down what you would like to improve on. Be honest with yourself. Your truth will help you develop a well-thought-out plan to prepare for the new year.

  3. Relationships Assessment

  4. Are the relationships in your life serving you or hindering you? Whether family, friends, co-workers, or spouses, you can only control your actions. If you do not like the way someone treats you, you are not obligated under any circumstances to deal. You are too old to be bullied and too smart to know when enough is enough; move on. If you can not get away from nonsense right away, do yourself a favor and put a plan in place to make your move sooner rather than later.

  5. Career Assessment

  6. Are you moving on up or sitting stagnant? You know you need to always dip your toes in the water, even if you do not plan to make a move. It keeps your confidence high and lets you know that you always have options. Going through life stuck is not beneficial for your psyche. It can make one quite lazy and depressed.

  7. Mental & Spiritual Health/Life Assessment

  8. Plan to take care of your mental and spiritual health. Do know a higher power is always waiting in the wind for you to call out. If you need help, find a group to assist you on this journey. A congregation to learn the word and pray may be beneficial. A meditation studio to meditate in or do yoga. Being in the moment in nature. Breathing and listening to the fowls of the air and every other creature that hovers around you. Listen out for thoughts that may pop into your mind; for they may be insightful. Have a journal or paper with you to write things down.

  9. Remember to do some self-care loving on yourself if not every day, once a week but no less than once a month. It is imperative to take care of oneself to avoid burnout or any breakdown that may cause you to be ineffective in your daily obligations.

  10. Journal

  11. Make an effort to journal every day. Get those thoughts from your head to a pad so you can manifest your heart's desires to the world. Consider writing about what and who you are grateful for. Every night journal about how your day went and what you would have liked to have happened differently. Journaling helps relieve daily stress and helps to start tomorrow off on a good note. Aim to journal 2 to 3 times a week if you are not up to it every night.

  12. Design a Health & Wellness Plan

  13. How are you doing in the health, fitness, nutrition or overall wellness dept.? The New Year is the ideal time to start a new plan. It is the perfect time to get your health and wellness back on track. The New Year is when most people are open to change. After doing some deep reflection, people tend to be more open-minded. If you desire to get your numbers down, do it. Whether it be sugar, blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, BMI, or whatever impacts your health. There is no time like the New Year to start on a new leaf. Having a plan that aligns with improving your health can do no wrong.

  14. Design a Financial Plan

  15. How are you financially? If you have no idea where you are in your finances, begin the new year knowing that things can be different. Visit your nearest Staples, Office Depot, Costco, or business center and pick up some folders or bins to store your receipts from the purchases you make so that you can know at all times where every dime you spend goes moving forward. This exercise places a macro view on how you spend your money. It does not beat you up based on what you did in the past. Forgive yourself and move on. In addition, make an excel sheet or contact us to help you track your expenses.

  16. Organize & Declutter your Space

  17. Are you living in a mess? Are you holding on to things you no longer use? If you have not used something in the last 3 years or more it may be time to separate from it; you are hoarding. Donations are often high this time of year because of so many acts of kindness.

  18. If that relationship no longer serves you, it may be time to separate and move on and know that is O.K. Some relationships are only for a season.

  19. Clean your home and office and declutter it so you can start the new year off on a refreshing note.

  20. Mindfulness Shift

  21. If you want something different, you must do something different. So, how is your thinking? Stinking thinking gets you nowhere, as is stagnant thinking too. However, positive thinking can attract or bring so much in your life that was not there before. Be mindful of the thoughts you think and the words you speak at all times for you are a powerful person and it is a few of your super powers if you did not know it. Good or bad things tend to appear that you say and think. Therefore, it is imperative to protect your mind and mouth, be conscious of what goes in it and comes out of it. News and negative people can have a detrimental impact on all you may want to manifest. As well as intaking foods that are not good for you can cause inflammation or worst in your body.

  22. Develop a Vision Board

  23. Do you have a vision? Well it may be time to bring that vision into existence. A vision board helps to keep goals front and center so visions can be brought to life. Visualization is powerful; it helps manifest dreams and goals via affirming vibrations. Whatever you think you want, place it on a vision board and watch it come to fruition. Look at the vision board every day; affirm what is on it often. You deserve to live the good life, but you must have goals in place to even know what that is.
